At Your Travel Counsellor, we are committed to conducting business responsibly, ethically, and with integrity. As a proud franchisee of the Travel Counsellors Group, we share the group’s values and dedication to protecting human rights throughout our operations and supply chains.
The following statement outlines the steps taken by both YTC and the Travel Counsellors network to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking, in compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking, and all forms of modern slavery are serious violations of human rights. At Your Travel Counsellor (YTC), we recognise our responsibility to remain vigilant to these risks, no matter how small, within both our own operations and our wider supply chain.
All colleagues are expected to report any concerns, and management will act promptly on any issues raised.
We will not support or conduct business with any organisation or individual knowingly involved in slavery or human trafficking. The use of exploitative labour is a criminal offence and is strictly prohibited within our business and throughout our supply chain.
YTC provides personalised travel arrangements of all kinds, including leisure holidays, family trips, group travel, corporate travel, special-interest travel, and bespoke itineraries. We operate as a franchisee of the Travel Counsellors Group, an award-winning global network of professional travel advisers.
The Travel Counsellors Group connects a worldwide community of informed travellers and expert, caring travel professionals who create truly personalised experiences for individuals, families, groups, and businesses. Entrepreneurs use the Travel Counsellors brand, tools, technology, supply chain, and support to establish and grow their own travel businesses, trading as independent franchisees known as Travel Counsellors.
YTC benefits from and contributes to this trusted network, using the group’s established global supplier relationships, technology platforms, and compliance frameworks to deliver safe, ethical, and high-quality travel services.
While the majority of our operations are UK-based, the Travel Counsellors Group also operates internationally through subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, the UAE, and South Africa.
We act as both a travel organiser and, where appropriate, a tour operator. When arranging travel services, we often act as an agent for third-party suppliers, enabling direct contracts between clients and those providers. In some cases, we operate as a package organiser under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, with a duty to ensure that all elements of the travel package are performed to the agreed standard.
Our global supply chain includes direct and indirect partnerships with airlines, hotels, tour operators, transport providers, destination partners, and other service providers. We choose to work only with partners who share our values and commitment to strong ethical, safety, and labour standards.
At YTC, and across the wider Travel Counsellors network, we are committed to acting with honesty, integrity, and transparency in every aspect of our business. We do not tolerate any form of slavery, servitude, forced labour, or human trafficking in our organisation or supply chain.
We operate under clear policies and procedures that promote accountability and transparency. This includes the Speak Up Policy, which encourages colleagues to raise concerns or suspicions of unethical conduct at the earliest opportunity. We provide an independent and confidential whistleblowing hotline, enabling colleagues to report concerns anonymously and without fear of retaliation.
YTC and the Travel Counsellors Group also maintain robust anti-bribery and corruption policies and strict recruitment procedures, including verification of the legal right to work in the UK.
YTC adheres to the Travel Counsellors Supplier Code of Conduct, which outlines the minimum standards expected of all suppliers. This includes compliance with the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and a commitment to ensure operations are free from slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking.
Contracts and supplier agreements include clauses on ethical conduct and compliance with modern slavery legislation. Suppliers are monitored through Travel Counsellors’ systems and processes, including third-party screening, audits, reviews, and feedback mechanisms.
Where risks or non-compliance are identified, corrective action is required. In serious cases, this may result in suspension or termination of supplier relationships. Should any instance of modern slavery be discovered, YTC would immediately cease working with the supplier involved.
Through our partnership with the Travel Counsellors Group, we benefit from a global network committed to continually raising standards of compliance and ethical conduct across the travel sector. Together, we aim to work with partners who share our values and uphold fair, transparent, and responsible business practices.
